Sabvest - pet industry interests expanded Shareholders were advised that Valemount Trading (Pty) Ltd. (Valemount), in which Sabcap has a 39,31% interest, has commenced material growth initiatives to expand its operations in the pet industry, both organically and by acquisition. Valemount is a pet food manufacturer and supplier to leading retail chains, specialist pet stores and major co-ops in South Africa. Valemount is the largest distributor of bird seed and related feeder products in the country through its Westerman's, De Bird and Animal Zone brands. The expansion of its range of products is supported by its international partners M-PETS and Pet Rebels. It is also a major provider of outsourced logistical services to numerous independent pet product suppliers through its nationwide distribution centers.
