Merafe - tariff proposal and consultation update Merafe announced an update on its efforts to secure a sustainable electricity tariff for ferrochrome operations. The company’s Glencore-Merafe Chrome Venture has received provisional acceptance from Eskom for revised tariff terms of 62c per kWh, subject to clarification and industry approval. The agreement is pending final approval from the South African National Energy Regulator (NERSA). The Termination Date for ongoing consultations has been extended to 11 May 2026 to facilitate the regulatory process, which is targeted for completion within 30 days. Merafe emphasises its commitment to supporting local beneficiation, safeguarding jobs, and ensuring the long-term viability of its operations.
