Sasol in agreement with Engelhard Sasol and New York Stock Exchange listed Engelhard have announced a manufacturing and supply agreement whereby Engelhard will produce a scaled up version of the catalyst for Sasol's technology used to convert natural gas into liquid hydrocarbons. Sasol is busy negotiating the licensing of the process to several energy companies or to use it in joint projects.

Sasol enters e-commerce arena Sasol processed its first e-procurement transaction on 6 Jul 00 to establish itself as a leader in e-commerce. The transaction was performed in conjunction with its partners Commerce One and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and is part of Sasol's restructuring of its procurement policy to bring it in line with world best practices. It is estimated that the e-commerce systems will save Sasol about 10% of their procurement costs of about R6bn annually, equating to R600m. Full implementation of the system should take 18 - 24 months.
