DEALINGS IN SECURITIES BY THE PICK N PAY GROUP

In compliance with Schedule 14.9 and paragraphs 3.63 to 3.74 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, the following information is provided regarding dealings in securities by the Group. The Group
purchased 2 504 072 Pick n Pay ordinary shares on the open market of the Johannesburg Stock
Exchange that will be utilised for the future settlement of share awards issued under the Pick n Pay
restricted forfeitable share plan.

The ordinary shares were acquired with prior clearance and on a direct beneficial basis. The shares will
be held in treasury until such time that the shares have vested under the rules of the long-term
incentive plan. The total transaction value amounted to R64 903 579.17.

The daily high, low and volume-weighted average price ("VWAP") for the various transactions effected
by the Group were:
