Sasol Limited announced today that Dr Z Z R Rustomjee has resigned as           
non-executive director of Sasol Limited with effect from 18 September           
2002 to avoid possible conflicts of interest that may arise following           
his appointment as an executive of BHP Billiton. The company expressed          
its appreciation for Dr Rustomjee`s contribution as director of Sasol           
Limited and wished him well in his new career.
