CHIP GOODYEAR RETIRES AS CEO AND BHP BILLITON DIRECTOR                          
As previously announced Chip Goodyear retired as Chief Executive Officer of BHP 
Billiton on 30 September 2007.   He retired from the Boards of BHP Billiton     
Limited and BHP Billiton Plc on the same date but will remain with the Company  
until 1 January 2008.  Marius Kloppers assumed the role of Chief Executive      
Officer from 1 October.
