Gemfields - results of emeralds auction
Gemfields announced the successful auction of commercial-quality rough emeralds held from 24 August to 10 September 2026 in Jaipur, India. The auction generated USD29.6 million in revenue, with all 44 lots sold at an average price of USD9.72 per carat. The auction involved 63 bidders and was conducted via an online platform, with private viewings in Jaipur. The emeralds were mined by Kagem, in which Gemfields owns 75%, and proceeds will be fully repatriated to Zambia, including all royalties payable to the Zambian government. This result reflects strong demand for emeralds and positive market engagement, continuing Gemfields’ recent successful auction track record.
