BHPBill increases Olympic reserves by 75%
Business Report noted that uranium, copper and gold reserves at BHPBill's Olympic Dam mine in Australia were 75% more than previously estimated, at 7.7 billion tons. Olympic Dam's estimated gold resource grew 11% to 79 million ounces.

BHPBill -- announced terms for new CEO
The board of BHPBill announced the terms of employment for incoming Chief Executive Officer, Marius Kloppers. The contract will be effective from the start of his term as CEO on 1 October 2007. In announcing the details, BHPBill Chairman, Don Argus, said that the terms reflected the group's remuneration policy, with a significant portion of the total potential remuneration being `at risk` and subject to the group's performance.

BHPBill surges on expected resources update
Business Day noted that the share price of BHPBill rose 3.4% in Sydney to a record high of AUD44.60 on Monday, 24 September 2007 amid speculation that the company may increase estimates of copper, uranium and gold resources at its Olympic Dam mine in Australia. BHPBill is planning an expansion worth at least USD5 billion at the mine, which may double copper output and almost triple uranium production. The resource update may also reveal the world's largest gold resource.

BHPBill could invest USD300 million in Indonesia
According to Business Report, BHPBill could spend as much as USD300 million in Indonesia developing coking coal mines to meet the increased demand from steel makers in Asia. The company said that it expected to produce five million tons of coking coal annually by 2009 from its Indonesian operations.

BHPBILL -- new Specialty Products president
BHPBILL announced today the appointment of Graham Kerr as President of its Diamonds and Specialty Products Customer Sector Group. Mr Kerr will be based in London and will replace Alberto Calderon who has been appointed to the role of Group Executive and Chief Commercial Officer.
