    Biilliton expects continued run in commodity cycle
    Billiton director Mick Davies expects the run on the commodity cycle to continue and believes that Billiton is well placed to take advantage of this. The upswing, according to Davies, is due to a recovery in the Far East market and increased premiums on manufactured items such as steel. New projects such as the Mozal smelter should also benefit from the upswing. Billiton was also investigating acquiring some of Royal/Dutch Shell's coal mines after they announced their intentions of disposing of their coal interests.
