    Billiton in Chinese agreement
    Billiton has entered into a preliminary co-operative agreement with Yunnan Lanping Nonferrous Metals Company of China regarding a potential large scale development of the Lanping zinc-lead ore district in the Yunnan province. Billiton will hold majority ownership and operating rights for the joint venture that could produce up to 200 000 tons of zinc per year for a capital cost of $500m.
