    Sasol's market capitalisation gains over R14bn
    Business Report noted that Sasol's market capitalisation rose over R14 billion on 6 August 2007 in response to the government's announcement on windfall tax.

    Sasol -- reaction to decision on windfall tax
    The South African Minister of Finance, Trevor Manuel, announced today that the National Treasury would not proceed with a windfall tax on the profits earned by existing synthetic fuel producers. Sasol welcomes the National Treasury's decision. Sasol also noted the government's aim to create a climate of certainty for the liquid fuels industry and lay a basis to ensure the success of growth projects.
