    Billiton in Canadian nickel deal with Virginia
    Billiton has entered into an agreement with Toronto listed Virginia Gold Mines Inc with regard to Virginia's Gayot nickel project in Quebec Canada. The agreement gives Billiton the option to enter into a joint venture by expending C$4.5m over 3.5 years, and gives Billiton 50% of the joint venture. The option is open for 6 months and Billiton has the right to become the operator of the project and will have marketing rights on metal products from the project.
