Worsley Alumina (Pty) Ltd (Australia) will spend A Worsley Alumina (Pty) Ltd (Australia) will spend A$600m on expanding refinery capacity 65% to 3.1m tons. The project will also lower cost and improve quality. Billiton Australia has a 30% stake.

QNI (Australia will issue 455 QNI (Australia will issue 455.8m new shares to Billiton for its Nickel interests. This represents 52.5% of the enlarged QNI. QNI will undergo a reduction in capital to the tune of 30c per share to be paid out of the share reserve. Billiton will participate in this reduction of capital.
