Mercantile finalisation announcement
Mercantile ordinary shareholders are referred to the announcement published on SENS on 23 April 2012 and in the press on 24 April 2012, regarding the approval at the shareholders meeting, by the requisite majority of shareholders present and voting in person or by proxy, of the scheme of arrangement and delisting of Mercantile ("the scheme"). Shareholders are hereby advised that all conditions precedent to the scheme, as detailed in the circular issued to Mercantile shareholders on 22 March 2012 have been fulfilled and accordingly the scheme is now unconditional. The salient dates and times relating to the implementation of the share scheme are as follows:
- Last day to trade Mercantile ordinary shares on the JSE in order to be recorded in the register to receive the scheme consideration on Friday, 11 May 2012
- Suspension of listing of Mercantile ordinary shares at the commencement of trade on the JSE on Monday, 14 May 2012
- Scheme consideration record date to be recorded in the register in order to receive the scheme consideration on Friday, 18 May 2012
- Scheme operative date and on Monday, 21 May 2012
- Payment or delivery of the scheme consideration on or about Monday, 21 May 2012
- Termination of listing of Mercantile ordinary shares on the JSE at the commencement of trade on Tuesday, 22 May 2012.
