MICROmega SUBSIDIARY AWARDED ADDITIONAL TENDER BY TRANSNET RAIL ENGINEERING
MICROmega Holdings Limited`s subsidiary company NOSA (Pty) Ltd ("NOSA") has
secured an additional tender for the provision of a `Working at Heights`
solution from Transnet Rail Engineering ("Transnet").
Greg Morris, Chief Executive Officer of MICROmega states "NOSA`s current
growth and diversification is attributed to the increased demand for products
and services we are experiencing from our current clients. There is no doubt
that all sectors of the South African economy are starting to priorotise
occupational health and safety and we are seeing an increase in our order
book across all sectors of industry". Morris added "the growth that NOSA is
enjoying in the `Working at Heights` division is illustrative of NOSA`s
ability to leverage off its dominant position in the domestic market and
expand its service offerings beyond traditional training, auditing and
consulting services".
According to Mirriam Tenyane, General Manager of Risk and Safety for
Transnet, "NOSA has thus far demonstrated professionalism and met all of
Transnet`s expectations as per the agreed services. We continue to receive a
high quality of service from NOSA at all times, that meets the regulatory
requirements, and therefore enables our organisation to ensure that the risk
of working at heights is reduced and injuries eradicated."
In terms of South Africa`s Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993, all work
done at an elevation of two metres and higher requires a fall protection
plan. The fall protection plan requires equipment, training, procedures and
methods to address relevant risks. This all forms part of the `Working at
Heights` solution offered by NOSA.
According to Justin Hobday, NOSA Managing Director, "The contract is with
Transnet Koedoespoort and Bloemfontein and requires the development and
implementation of a very specific `Working at Heights` solution. We have a
good working relationship with Transnet and we look forward to working with
their team over the next few months to ensure that the solution is
effectively implemented."
